On May 26, 2015, the 12MW Transitional Independent Power plant & 11KV Transmission and Distribution Network Project were commissioned by His Excellency, Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN).  The event had in attendance some members of the Lagos State Executive Council, members of LFZDC Board of Directors, Investors, Traditional Rulers, members of the Diplomatic Corps and other stake holders.

The 12MW dual-fuel Power Plant shall be powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), while Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will serve as the back-up fuel.

The 12MW dual-fuel Power Plant will service a host number of manufacturing enterprises within the zone, street lights, Residential apartments and other commercial buildings at affordable tariff rates.

Commissioner, Commerce & Industry, Lagos State), Mr Liu Kan (Consular General, Embassy of People’s Republic of China, Nigeria) and other distinguished guests during the commissioning of LFZDC 12MW Independent Power plant.

The Executive Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) expressed his delight with the level of development being accomplished by Lekki Free Zone Development Company (LFZDC) on the Southwest Quadrant. He also encouraged investors to key into the Lekki Free Zone project initiative and invest in the zone.
