On the 5^th of October 2013, The chairman of Dangote Group of Companies Alhaji Aliko Dangote and the Group Executive Director Dangote Group, Mr. Kunle Alake paid a courtesy visit to the Lekki Free Zone, accompanied by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mrs. Olusola Oworu, and the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Lekki Worldwide Investment Limited, Mr. Ope George.

On arrival at the Zone, they were received by the Management of the Lekki Free Zone led by the DMD, LFZDC, Mr. Adeyemo Thompson, The Engineering Controller LFZDC, Mr. Huang and other staff of Lekki Free Zone.

The purpose of the visit was to access the development progress of Lekki Free Zone and explore the investment opportunities that will expand the horizon of the Dangote Group.

The chairman was given a guided tour round the zone after being taken through the development plan and deliverables of the project by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce and Industry and the Deputy Managing Director of the Zone respectively.
