On the 25th of September 2018, the Customs Comptroller, (Lilypond Command, Tincan 2), Mrs. Wushishi L.S.A, made a familiarization visit to the Lekki Free Zone. She was accompanied by the Deputy Comptroller (Revenue), Mr. Abubakar M.D., the Asst. Comptroller in charge of C.I.U, Mr. Ugah, U. and the Command Accountant, DSC Abugu, C.
She was warmly received by the Management of LFZDC at the One –Stop Service centre of the Administrative Complex, after which a presentation on the current operations and activities in the Lekki Free Zone was made. There was also a tour of the functional centres like the 12MW power plant, the 3,000m3/day Water treatment plant, Residential camp area, Medical centre, the Lekki Free Zone Police Station, the Standard factory and other Operational investors.
She was greatly impressed by the infrastructural development of the Zone and the seamless cooperation existing between government agencies, the LFZDC management, and the enterprises. She also showed her utmost satisfaction in the payment of duty and the effective operations by the Customs processing Center located at the Lekki Free Zone.
The Customs Comptroller advised resident officers to continuously be proactive and ensure compliance with Customs regulations as they carry out their official duties in the Zone. She also pledged to give necessary support to progressively improve the Customs processes, hence, attracting more investors to the Zone.
