From May 14 to 15, the 2026 International Engineering Supply-Chain Value Creation Conference and Liaoning–Central State-Owned Enterprises Overseas Project Procurement and Business-Matching Forum was held in Shenyang.

The event was hosted by the Liaoning Provincial Department of Commerce, with professional support from the China International Contractors Association, and jointly organised by several government departments, including the Liaoning Provincial State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission and the Liaoning Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

Mr. Gu Jun, Vice Governor of Liaoning Province; Mr. Yang Hao, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Outward Investment and Economic Cooperation of China’s Ministry of Commerce; and Mr. Fang Qiuchen, Chairman of the China International Contractors Association, attended the conference and delivered speeches.

Mr. Yang Yang, General Manager of China-Africa Lekki Investment Co., Ltd., was invited to attend the conference and delivered a special presentation on the Lekki Free Zone. Nearly 400 participants attended the event, including representatives from more than 235 central state-owned enterprises and leading companies from within and outside Liaoning Province.

During his presentation, Mr. Yang stated that Nigeria, as Africa’s largest economy, has a large population, a significant demographic dividend, a broad consumer market, and a considerable gap between the supply of and demand for industrial products. These conditions provide attractive investment opportunities for Chinese enterprises seeking to expand their presence in the African market and establish overseas industrial operations.

He further stated that the Lekki Free Zone benefits from a strategic location, well-developed supporting infrastructure, efficient operational management, and stable preferential policies, making it one of the most attractive industrial parks in Nigeria and the wider West African region.

Following the conference, representatives of the Lekki Free Zone held in-depth discussions with participating building-materials, mechanical, and electrical-products companies, resulting in preliminary agreements on potential cooperation.
