Lagos State Commissioner of Police Visits Lekki Free Zone to Strengthen Security Cooperation
On October 31, the Commissioner of Police of the Lagos State Police Command led a delegation on an official visit to the Lekki Free Zone. The management of the Lekki Free Zone Development Company warmly welcomed the delegation, and both parties held productive discussions on further strengthening security management within the Zone and deepening cooperation between the police and the business community.
Security and stability are the foundations of investment and development. Over the years, with the strong guidance and support of the Lagos State Police Command, the Lekki Free Zone has continuously strengthened its security framework. A three-tier security system comprising the Free Zone Police Station, the Zone’s internal security team, and third-party security personnel engaged by individual enterprises has been established. This system has effectively safeguarded the lives and property of businesses, employees, and surrounding communities, while creating a secure and favourable environment for investment promotion and the sustainable development of the Zone.
In his remarks, the Commissioner of Police commended the Lekki Free Zone for its significant achievements in security management and the maintenance of public order. He praised the Zone’s efforts in developing its security framework, preventing and controlling risks, and strengthening emergency response capabilities. He further stated that the Lagos State Police Command would continue to increase its support for the Free Zone, strengthen police deployment and routine patrols, and ensure the continued security and stability of the Zone and its surrounding areas.
As a national-level overseas economic and trade cooperation zone, the Lekki Free Zone has consistently regarded workplace safety and crime prevention as core priorities. The Zone continues to invest in modern police facilities, intelligent surveillance systems, and comprehensive emergency response mechanisms. It has also established a regular coordination framework with the Lagos State Police Command, including periodic joint security meetings to assess security conditions, identify potential risks, and ensure the timely handling of emergencies.
The Commissioner of Police’s visit further strengthened the partnership between the Lekki Free Zone and the Lagos State Police Command. It also reaffirmed the Zone’s key advantages as a secure, stable, and efficiently managed investment destination. The Lekki Free Zone will continue to work closely with the police to enhance its security framework and provide resident enterprises with an even safer and more dependable environment for growth.
The Lekki Free Zone Development Company sincerely welcomes more enterprises seeking to expand into the African market to invest and establish operations in the Zone. In its secure, open, and mutually beneficial business environment, investors can seize new development opportunities and work together towards a prosperous future.
